I experimented with monochromatic colors on this spread. I used Liquidtex deep magenta and red orange fluid acrylics along with some white. At the beginning, the background was yellow and magenta and then I glued down some collage papers. After that, more gesso. I used some gold and orange watercolors to brighten the dullness of the white gesso. I drew the basic sketch with a graphite pencil. Then I painted over that with different shades of the two colors mixed with white. More graphite at the end to accent the lines. I know it probably needs more contrast and the angel has no shoulders but I decided to leave it as it is. 🙂

I love this journal spread. These to combination of colors are always pleasing together. Love the angel–she didn’t need the shoulders. She is wonderful as is.
