“Life is like dancing.
If we have a big floor, many people will dance.
Some will get angry when the rhythm changes.
But life is changing all the time.”
– don Miguel Ruiz

I have been continuing to work in my “Let’s Boogie” journal.  This page is collage…some magazine pieces and some of my doodles combined.  The paint brush handles and colored pencils are from Dick Blick’s catalog.

I doodled over the cartoon on this page and then added the figure collage:

This page is truly mixed media.  I used acrylic paint, colored pencil, Caran d’Ache Neo Color II, doodles and magazine pieces:

This page was lightly painted with acrylic paints… I started the face with my non-dominant hand.  Then, I finished with various markers and pens.

This is a 2-page spread as suggested by Tammy of Daisy Yellow. I took her class Novel Approach to Art Journal.   In this lesson, the instructions were to start with a painted page and then glue down various squares of graphic and text that resonated with you.  I’m not very happy with my color choice…the dark green doesn’t work for me.

Sketchbook snippets:

I have been getting back to doodling lately.  I can do it while I watch tv in the evening. Love those black Sharpies!   Here is one finished page:

…until the next time

A fabulous and eclectic collection as always. I think my favourites are the second collage with the figure amongst the doodles and the “When nothing goes right…” doodle.
