ICADs, Link Love, etc…

I’ve been having computer problems the past few days.  I did a system restore and I think it helped fix the problem.  I momentarily lost my anti-virus because I restored before the renewal date.  I still had the email with the receipt showing that I renewed.  Windows 😦  Makes me want to consider an Apple product.

ICAD 26 shows a small picture and text from a late 1940’s school reader:

ICAD 27 has two different kinds of paper…magazine page and painted deli paper:

ICAD 28 started with watercolor and ink stenciling and drips with a Sharpie Marker used to doodle over them:

Here is a journal page I finished this week:

She could see “the cars driving past on the street and she wondered where all those people were off to.”
Wonderful icad’s and I love that journal page. Great colors!

“…the big round yellow ball rolling towards her. She thought, “can I keep this?”
At the risk of dating myself, that first ICAD brought back lots of memories! LOL! Great cards, Mary!

Thanks Pat! That card dates me as well 🙂

I love your cards. The story starter is a great idea. I could see making a collection of these for a writers’ group (and I love those vintage illustrations). I’m an Apple person through and through (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro). Got my first Mac in college and haven’t looked back (and that was over 20 years ago). I highly recommend making the switch!

These are some really clever and unique cards. Loved the first one. Have nothing to keep the story going, though.

I’ve considered buying a Mac, but my software, which is NOT micro$oft, won’t work with it. I’d hate starting over in that regard. But if you aren’t tied to your software, I’d say “go for it.”

Thank you Elizabeth…I suppose I’ll stay with my windows since I know how to deal with it (most of the time).

Thanks Cheryl, I’ll check it out!

Mary, I love the idea of creating a series of cards with the “finish the story” idea! You could create ICADs and an excellent creative writing exercise at the same time. Very, very cool!

I got a good response on that story card…maybe, I’ll do another 🙂 Thanks!!!

My mind is still dwelling on what the girl saw…will have to get back to you on that one.

    • Mary July 1, 2013 / 9:23 am

haha! In the book, she saw trees and the town beyond them 🙂

OUCH! I feel your computer pain, Mary! I hope everything is back to normal, now (there’s nothing more frustrating than a frustrating computer)! Amazing work, too, of course! I’m particularly drawn to the incredible depth in your last piece… very, very cool! 🙂

I know, it’s been aggravating to the point I have been looking at a new computer…but we need a new roof too…so, that’s on hold for now. As always, thank you for your support and comment!

Wow!! You have been busy. Love the cards, and the journal page. So much juiciness, and inspiration. I have not been to Creature Comforts for a couple of years I had forgotten that site. Thank you for reminding me!! 🙂 Am looking forward to having a look through. 🙂
