marks on the old book…

I have been working on some journal pages but I don’t have any completed to show yet.  I can’t stop making the doodles in the old book I mentioned in my last post.  It’s something I have taken to doing at night if we are watching a movie.  We watch very few series and decided earlier not to start watching “The X Factor.”  We also decided not to watch “American Idol” when it starts back up again and we are boycotting “The Biggest Loser.”  🙂  We watch the “The Good Wife” on Sunday night.  We also watch the crazy zombie series, “The Walking Dead,” that airs on AMC on Sunday.  Anyone else watching that one?

I’ve been going a long time now

along the way I’ve learned some things.

You have to make the good times yourself

take the little times and make them into big times

and save the times that are all right

for the ones that aren’t so good.

I’ve never been able

to push the clouds away by myself.

                                   Help me.

Please.

Still liking these pages! We’re like you and your husband…trying not to “overcommit” to many different TV series. I was seriously disappointed in American Idol last season, so I might have to skip that one this time around. We are watching “The Good Wife” on DVR right now!

Your book pages look great. I like the faces and how you fill in around them with the doodles. We like “The Good Wife” too. We’ve never watched “American Idol” or “The X Factor”….we don’t like reality TV shows. We’re still watching all the back seasons of “Mad Men” so we’ll be caught up when it returns in March. Love that show!

I love this idea, i may have to try them in the old book I have as a a journal. The only reality TV I watch is on The Food Network. Have a great day.

We just got Direct TV about 6 months ago after not having cable for almost 2 years & now we’re addicted to way too many shows. Love The Walking Dead & X-Factor. Its funny, we never watched Amer Idol or any other reality shows, but for some reason we caught the first X-Factor when they were doing auditions & saw this guy from our hometown (who is still on so far) & just really like it. There are a bunch of other shows we love – Mad Men & Breaking Bad being 2 major ones. I should do stuff while watching tv too – I usually end up drafting blog posts or wasting time surfing the internet. But, I should drag out some art journaling supplies. I just like to keep everything in my office but that seems silly.

Mary, we watch both the UK and the US X-factor!! I am a series addict I’m afraid – I think it stems from having an over-active imagination and very little “culture” where we live at the moment! I really like your book pages and they reminded me of a recent “found poetry” exercise we did with Quinn MacDonald’s Raw Art Journalling. One of the women pointed us in the direction of a site called http://newspaperblackout.com/. I think you’ll like it! =)
