As I mentioned a few posts ago, Hanna is sponsoring a postcard swap. She said: “280 people x 10 postcards equals 2800 postcards!”
That’s a lot of postcards going off to various parts of the world. I will be sending two to Sweden, one to Malaysia, Spain, Germany, UK, and Canada. Also, three, in the US. I have five almost completed. I think I will be doing some pen doodles over the cards. I started with painted phone book pages that I tear into collage pieces and glue down on the postcard. This time I am using precut watercolor paper by Strathmore. Here are some photos of painted papers and the five postcards that are almost completed. The first photo shows how I do the painted papers, the next one shows five cards in a semi finished state. I hope to get my cards finished and mailed out by the first week in April. The deadline for sending them out is April 8.
The next photo shows some quick sketches done with a dip pen and India Ink on pages from my old Gregg Shorthand book:
Beautiful cards and I love those shorhand pages. Brings back memories 😉 Don’t think I could do it now, all forgotten !

Love your postcards! You always have the best painted pages around. And the girl sketched on the shorthand page is great. I like drawing over text but yours has that added twist.

wow, i love those painted telephone book pages. i’ve been meaning to ask you are you still doing the “Fast Five”? i pretty sure your blog mentioned it at one time. if the answer is yes…i want to thank you! my dh and i started the plan in Jan 2011 and feel great (and are slimmer too!)

Thank you! Yes, we are still doing Fast Five. We have company and have fallen off here the last two weeks but we plan to get right back on. The thing I notice is that you don’t drop a lot of weight but you lose inches. I’m sure I’d lose more weight if I’d completely give up bread and sweets 🙂 I’m glad it’s working for you….we can get by with less food intake…most folks do three meals a day, plus snacks in between.

Painted phone pages! Oooh, I never even thought of that. I love when artists successfully combine text from old books with their handdrawn images. Your postcards are delightful, I am enjoying checking out your blog!
